I have a neutered male rabbit, about 10 months old, and about 2 months ago i got a baby female rabbit who was 1-2 months old. The male always mounted her but lately he has been getting better about it. It wasn't a big issue because i knew it's a display of dominence, i just wanted to make sure he doesn't hurt the girl. I don't keep them in the same cage yet when i'm not around, but whenever I'm home I allow her in his cage and they get along great in the cage, as well as when they're out together. Today... the girl mounted him. I put her back in her cage for about 20 minutes and let her out again but she just ran straight to him and did it again.. why is she doing this? Could she actually be a boy?

It's a dominance thing. I'm guessing as she's getting older, and perhaps starting to feel the hormones, she is starting to want to be the boss. Just make sure they don't fight over it. The power might shift but it just depends on the individuals.

She could definitely be a boy as well. That would put him/her at about 3-4 months, so maybe its time for a vet visit :)

Could be a boy, but my does all have seemed to do this, and are their showing dominence.

Still whenever i had them together she would mount him, and he didn't seem to mind, but today he mounted her and bit her, and ripped out her fur. is this a problem should I keep them apart?
