It is a Netherland DwarfXMini LopxMini RexXPolish. Forgot to ask age. It's a boy.

Would a smaller cage be less intimidating for the baby now? By smaller I mean like 3ftlongX2ftwidex2ft tall? Later I have in mind building a much larger thing..but would think a baby might rather something like this for now.

I know some like wire floor and some don't. For those who do use it, do you use it for babies?

Regarding food. At the moment it is being fed Higgin's ADULT Rabbit feed, which has treats mixed in. I believe this to be crappy feed,no? I feed my Chinchillas either American Pet Diner (which I prefer, but shipping is hell for 25-50lbs) or Mazuri . I'd probably rather feed American Pet Diner for the rabbit, since it would go alot further as I'm just feeding the rabbit pellets to ONE. I am going to use Aspen bedding by the way.

Do you free feed or should I monitor pellet intake?

Read to feed alfalfa hay to babies, if so, how long till I switch to Timothy?

At what age should I get him neutered?

And, any good links for rabbit toys etc, online that I should check out?

Do rabbits get vaccinations?

Is average home temperature good?

hmm, well first of all, athough he is a baby i think he still needs a larger cage. babies are more active so he needs that space to play etc.

if he is on wire floor make SURE he has a way to get off of it. it can cause sore hocks. all bunnies need atleast a fourth of the cage not wire. ever though of not having a wire floor and litter box training him?

that feed with the treats in it is always crap. i would switch as soon as you can. just a basic alfalfa pellet would be okay. oxbow makes a pellet for younger rabbits that is supose to be great. Aspen bedding is just fine, and feed as many pellets as he wants (but i dont know if i would feed anymore of those you are giving him now)

when rabbits get about 5 or 6 months old they need to be switched to timothy hay and timothy pellets

i think most people nueter at 5 months. its great to know you are wanting him casterated!

rabbits done require vaccines in the US. and room tempature is great for your bunny. its actually better to be below room temp than above.

i have many links for you to check out for rabbit toys! http://www.rabbitcentral.com

Well I hadn't decided yet if I was using wire floors period. Seeing as some seem to think they are better and some dont. For other animals I've always been anti wire floors. So may not use wire at all then. I didn't know if like say Chinchillask, I should switch him over slowly even though he;'s being fed crap. SO I got 2lbs of the stuff they're using. Plus, I'll have to have some decent food shipped in anyway, which will take a few days. I have to get his DOB when I pick him up later, but when Do you start litterbox training?

My bigger cages are in our shed and hubby's gonna have to help me pull stuff out to get to them, so for now I'm using a smaller cage that hasa solid floor.

And I can also build a cage. Need to look around and get some ideas.

I've seen cube cages. This will be an indoors only bunny btw.

Think they used to have cubes at Walmart, but not anymore. Does home depot carry?

Here's a few bad pictures with my phone cam..

my walmart still has them.

also you may check bed bath and beyond, target, office depot, staples, pamida, big lots, costcos, sams.. there are lots of places.

i am unsure if home depot has them. you can always call and see

Yes, home depot does carry them as well as Target. In some of these places you can look in the office supplies or in the area near plastic containers. Best of luck

ps pick up some cable ties too they make the cage more sturdy.

Hi, very cute Bunny.

Watch if you but the ones at Walmart, they are vinyl coated. My little "rascalette" Daisy Mae chews on them, we have to be very careful she doesn't eat them.
