Went out to check on my bunnies and make sure everyone had fresh water this morning and I find a full nestbox!!! Thumpette my black ND doe gave birth this morning to 4 kits...all living! (last time she had 1 doa 1 live but it faded after a week and passed too) There appear to be 2 blacks and 2 otters. YEAH:yahoo:

Question, when you look at the pic, does the top kit look more like a blue than a black to anyone else???? I know there are 2 blacks, 1 black otter, and the top one is an otter but I think it may be a blue otter instead of a black otter but it is so early and they don't have fur yet...does anyone else have an opinion? (mom and dad do both have some blue)

Okay the babies are now 9 days old....yeah:party0002: Which is exciting because the first time this doe gave birth the one was doa and the other passed after a week (just sorta faded away) But this time all 4 are healthy and doing great!!!!!! Here are some updated pics

Question: I was wondering does kit 4 look like a marten or otter to you guys? I originally thought he was an otter, but his fur is so white (and mom's great grand dam was a silver marten) dad is an otter and both have lots of otter in their background....but I was just making sure.

Thanks for looking guys!!!!:inlove:

They are so cute!

Kit #4 is definitely an otter. You can see the tan markings on him around the edges. The picture you provided of the back of its neck confirms it. If it were a silver marten, that neck color would be the same color as the inside of those ears.

Awesome! I thought it was an otter, but just wanted to make sure! So far all my other kits have been very easy to pic out (black, blue, and pointed white) so there was no guess work involved. Thanks :)
