Hello everyone. My name is Melissa (BethinIrving) and nobody in our family has ever been on this forum before, nor have we made an online search for this forum. Yet the bunny forum system "welcomed" us back and said the last time we posted was yesterday.

Would anyone care to explain this unique situation? Perhaps all the backyard animals are now connected by "forums"? If so, why.

How incredibly interesting! I'm not sure how or why it happened (I'll check with the other admins and mods), but maybe it had something to do with your email address. If you'll PM it to me, I'll check to see if it's in any of our records.

Do youhave a rabbit? We'd love to have you stay on and become a part of our community. :)

:welcome1

Welcome to RO! We are more than welcome to stay with us too!

Hmm, that's really weird...I'm not sure how that would happen. :huh

But do you have pictures of your bunnies? We love pictures on here!

The internet gods have decreed your fate... Submit, bow down to the forces of the universe...

So, do you have a bunny?
If you don't, I guess you need one now !

Welcome Aboard the Good Ship RO!

(Actually, I was thinking that if you have a refurbished PC, maybe there's some remnants of a past member in the system?)

Yes, we do have bunnies == and chickens and geese. I can only think that this forum is somehow linked to the BYC forum which is a chicken forum.

I was invited by a hatchery to participate in BYC and did not do so for quite some time. Then during my recovery from an accident -- and being stuck in bed a while, I decided to do so after the hatchery continued to send me emails about BYC. The so-called "owner" of the forum is provocative and besmirches those who post on the forum. It was not pleasant at all. In fact, I've already sent out some notices about BYC forum.

Then because of my continued interest in my animals and wanting to make contact with others who have animals, that is when I surfed the internet and found you. I signed on and got a "welcome back" message and that I had been in the forum yesterday.

I've had the same email address over five years.

I think all of us share the same concerns about our animals. And we've even been in discussion around here about starting a Rabbit Club and a Flock Club here.

At this point we are building our stock of breeder rabbits. These are not registered animals, just happy healthy bunnies that will produce pets or contribute to the food supplies if the economy gets worse.

My two rabbits are Baby and Ojo. Ojo was a reject from a breeder. He has funky ears and we think he's adorable. Baby came from a friend's litter, the most gentle rabbit in the world.

So, that's where I am.

I've been here a little over a year - I'm not under the impression RO is linked to any other forums... but I do know after our server change a few months ago post counts were off, dates were off (remember when we did the max # of members online and the date came up wrong?) and a couple other contributing factors were involved.

I have no idea how it could have affected you but hopefully it'll make a positive turn.

I love the name Ojo, btw!

Oh my. I just hit the "report" button when I wanted to click the "reply" button. If anyone gets a "report" from me, kindly ignore it. I'm not reporting anybody.

This forum does seem very nice. Tell me, do you all have backyard or inside bunnies? Are you individual owners, activists, breeders ...

or all of the above? LOL!

I guess I'm asking where I fit in this picture.

Welcome to the forum BethinIrving! :welcome1

I have two indoor pet bunnies. I am well known to otherbunny owners and breeders in my area. And I help out at the Animal Shelter when they are overpopulated with bunnies. It is through this forum that made this possible.

You can refer to the Forum Decorum post to see the guidelines for our message board.

Thank you so much for the link to Forum Decorum. I just read it and discovered I have already committed an infraction. That certainly wasn't intended.

Ya know -- I've lived long enough now to really say "times have changed", but it does creep up on you and the rule changes can sure make you look and sound like you are out in left field somewhere.

Sorry if I offended anyone.

No worries! You didn't know the rules :)..

So...
PICTURES??????

I'm excited to see your guys :)

BTW, if you put your location down in your profile, we can help you to find rabbit resources in your area :)

Northern, I'm in northTexas. How would you add to a profile?

Remember ... I'm sitting here clicking on all the wrong buttons, and posting unintended insults ... and somehow landed in a forum I never heard of before! LOL!

How in the world do my bunnies put up with me:?

To the poster that liked Ojo's name. In addition to Ojo's ears, he has the most serious looking eyes and he's completely black. We could not think of a name for him and everyone kept commenting on his very very strange ears and his eyes. One of the kids, I think, pulled a prank on us as we were all standing around looking at him. All of us heard, "I am Ojo", and that's how he got his name.

Welcome to the forum :D

I guess maybe the forum was just being polite and saying 'welcome back'.

Anyone is welcome here, inside or outside owners, breeders, pet owners, rescues, people who don't have buns, anyone at all.

I personally have both inside and outside buns.

I hope you do stick around and look forward to you using the forum :)

Folks, I think I did it again. Clicked on the wrong button -- the report button.

I'm getting new glasses this week -- Wednesday.

All Moderators please understand I'm not doing that intentionally and I'm not reporting anybody.

By the way, you all have postings about rabbits that need help. Listen, I wouldn't mind helping out. We are in the process now of building some isolation cages for the new rabbits I'm buying, and it won't be a problem building extra. But it would need to be clearly understood that all rabbits have to go into isolation thirty days before they are allowed around my other rabbits. I've discovered some folks find that offensive. Why, I don't know.

I'm in Irving Texas. Let me know if I can help out. Will talk with the City about any necessary paperwork for rescue.

(But, how do you not get attached to the bunnies???)

I'm not sure why anyone would find it offensive that you quarantine. That's just good sense, and shows you love your rabbits. How vert weird if people have.

If you want to help with rehomes it might be worth posting in the rescue forum about it :)
