Hi I'm new on here.

can anyone help me - I am having my male castrated tomorrow so that I can put him with my Un-neutered female (too young at the moment to have her neutered) . How long do I have to wait after the op before he is safe to put with her? for example does it take a few week to make sure he has no sperm left in him (like you do with men)!!

any help appreciated. Thanks

Someone who knows for sure will chime in pretty quick, but I think it's three or four weeks. :)

It's a long stretch, that I know.

I would definitely wait a little over a month, and I've heard some people say that they are fertile for a month and a half.

Welcome to the forum denisecase2:wave:.

Our vet recommends 6 weeks.

No pics at the moment but will get some on very soon. My female is called Daisy and my boy who has just been neutered I got on Sunday from a rescue centre. At the moment is called Norman but it doesn't suit him he is more of a Boris or a Buster so it is probably going to change a few times yet!!! I will confirm at a later date!!!:?

By the way thanks for quick replies to my question. My vets have told me one month but I think I will leave it for 6 weeks to be safe I really really don't want any babies. I love them but I wouldn't be able to take them to a pet shop I'd end up keeping them!!!
