Groucho was neutered right before we got him. Once in a while he "humps" Bugsy. It doesn't happen often, but it is definitely still happening. He just did it so vigorously that he fell backwards (or Bugsy pushed him, as Groucho was going at his face). Anyway, when will this stop? Bugsy just puts up with it and looks at him like "again? Really dude, this needs to stop." They are both boys, and both neutered. They get along great. There is no aggression. So, I'm just curious about it.

Humping is not always sexual and even neutered rabbits will do it. With neutered rabbits, it is more a sign of dominance, basically he is saying he is the boss. With some bonded pairs, both will hump.

At 2-3 months post neuter, there should not be too much in the way of hormones left. If he is closer to 2 month, there could still be some, but at 3 months there should not really be much left.

As long as they aren't fighting or getting really annoyed by the humping, they should be fine. It is a normal part of rabbit behaviour.

Thank you. It is funny, that is the only dominant behavior that is different between them. What I mean is that they both groom each other often and push each other out of the way if they want a certain spot in the cage or on the floor. They snuggle all the time. They actually bonded the moment they were introduced, according to the woman at the shelter. So, I'm sure this is not a problem. Bugsy just waits for him to be done and all is fine.
