This is our tiny bunny Asha. We've had her since she was seven weeks and it feels as if she hasn't grown at all. She is healthy and very lively. She is almost five months now and i wonder will she get any bigger? At what age do they stop growing? I don't know her weight but from looking at her in the picture, does she look small for an almost grown up Nethie?

tend to grow till about 6 moths then they just develop their muscles when you get a runty one they can stay pretty small around the 2lbs mark or sometimes just under.

Smaller breeds mature faster then larger breeds such asa Rex and a Flemish Giant. They mature more around eight to twelve months old. A Netherland is more mature around four to six months.

With Billy, we didn't notice him growing as much as we noticed his fur color changing and darkening. There are times when he looks a little plump but he never looked like he got bigger from when we purchased him at 3 months. The change was so small that we couldn't tell with the naked eye. He went from 1.7 pounds at 3 months old, to 2.25 pounds at almost 2 years old. I was told that they fully mature at 6 months, but I honestly can't remember noticing a difference then. Sometimes when I see him I forget just how small he is...there are days when he looks like an oversized hamster to me :p

She is 719 g at the moment and almost five months. Does she look runty:(?
She is about half the size of all the other rabbits I have and they are all dwarf breeds. We call her our pocket rabbit

I have a dwarf named barney. He was the runt of the litter, so he only weighs in at a little under a pound and a half. She looks about the same size as my barney...so there isnt anything wrong with that:biggrin2:Barney enjoys being my pocket rabbit

Just had a look at the picture of Barney. What a cutie! I can't imagine Asha reaching the 2 lb mark either.

She's adorably tiny! She might still have a little bit of developing to do, but I would expect her to always be quite tiny.

I wouldn't worry about it as long as she's healthy and happy. She's not too much under the ideal show weight for nethies right? (Polly?).

I think she's gorgeous :inlove:.

My Sakura was 1.2kg and Ceara is 912grams right now, both nethies.

Most of the Nethies you see in Irish pet shops would be the larger variety. In fact I have never seen anything as miniscule as Asha. In fact when we brought her to the vets for vaccinations we stopped at a pet shop we frequently go to to show her of. They had Netherland Dwarves of exactly the same age for sale and they were almost twice as big as Asha. When I bought her she was in fact the only rabbit left in the shop and I was amazed she hadn't been snapped up earlier. It may have been the price that had put people off and also that they didn't know what she was. I guess I was lucky. Yeah, hope some more owners of Tinies come forward:biggrin2:
