Nesting

Bracken has decided to start making a nest. She's pulling her fur out and collecting hay... is there any way I can stop her from doing this? I don't want her to get baldy patches like my Bobtail used to get! There's no way she could be pregnant, so it's obviously a phantom pregnancy...

What causes them to nest like this?

Our Chippy nests ALL of the time. She pulls fur constantly for days, but I've never seen her pluck to the point where she gets bald spots.

She doesn't seem to get overly stressed from it so I just let her nest. On the contrary she gets very upset if I interfere in any way.

Bobtail used to pluck her entire chest bare. I was watching Bracken, and she was taking fur from all over, so perhaps she wouldn't end up bald
