But yesterday I went out and she had dug a nest (for lack of a better word) in the back of the dog house. There was straw and shavings everywhere. She had dug it up so much she had pushed a bunch out the door. So my question is...
Would she be feeling the need to build a nest already? She would only be 10 days or so along. Or do rabbits just like to fluff their beds every now and then?
It doesn't look like she is pulling hair out or anything yet. Maybe she's just as anxious as I am about the whole thing.:whatever

There's a gal on here that had a boy bunny that made the best nests! just to keep himself warm in the winter.
It is cold but not any colder than it has been. It's actually warmer than when I got her. And she has a heat lamp. Who knows maybe she's just crazy.

Flashy wrote:Proven? Meaning she's had litters before? I'm don't know for certain but I would say yes. I got her from a woman who had several rabbits of different breeds and had to get rid of most of them. After I got her she told me she might be pregnant. I'm just assuming that she's had babies before. ???
S_Toast wrote:Yeh, proven meaning having had and raised at least a litter.
It might be that she recognises what is happening to her and is being prepared. My Sandy made a nest after 4 days and kept it until day 10 then dismantled it, only to remake it on day 29 and have a perfect litter the next day.
I wish I knew more about her past but the woman I got her from has disappeared. How nice for her... she is probably afraid I'll try to give Oaks back because I didn't sound too excited when she told me she was probably pregnant. At least I have a heads up I guess. Maybe she is just practicing her nest building skills!
