I have a lady who wants to take 2 of the babies. One is for herself and the other for her sister-in-law.

My concern is the first lady, she seems very nice, and very interestedin taking one of the babies. She is opening a resale storethis week and wants to keep the bun in her store as a conversationpiece.

These babies are socialized, love to be picked up andcuddled. I worked very hard to get them this way.Should I allow this woman to have a babie and tell her that it is not agood idea to leave it in the store! If so, how do I sayit? I know where her store is so I can check on the babywithout notification. What do you think?

You should probably tell her directly that theywere brought up as home rabbits and you'd prefer they stay that way.Let her know you don't feel comfortable in the knowledge of having thepoor thing poked and prodded by people visiting her store. The directbut curteous approach is usually the best when dealing in such matters.

Why doesn't she just keep the rabbit at hime andthen bring him to work with her? That way he can heave thebest of both worlds - with his 'mommy' at night, and can spend the daywith her at work.

I like Jenniblu's idea- provided that the rabbit learns to like the change.

Also, have you thought of doing a spay/neuter contract? Itsounds like this is a new bunny owner, and they may not know much aboutit.

Thanks for the ideas I appreciatethem. Yes, the woman was told that they HAD to bespayed/neutered and that there would be a contract involved.I am also supplying her with this website addy and all the info I havecollected from here in my binder.

I would be concerned about the sister in law since you've never met her(I'm guessing). Sometimes people want to get a rabbit forsomeone else...only the someone else may not be wantingarabbit...or may not have the time for a rabbit...

I think if the bunny went from store to home and was happy with thatarrangement - it would be great - as long as customers couldn't pick upthe rabbit without supervision.

Then again - I'm going back to see my counselor today (first time sinceMay) and I'm slipping Harriet and two little babies with me...

Susan : Actually there isnothing wrong with being aStore Bunny , think of all theattention the Rabbitwill get on a constant basis ,You worked very hardsocializing them . Having him in a Store exposed topeople will reenforce bondingand social ability . As long asproper safety measures are implimentedThe Rabbit will surely enjoythe Human contact
