I would like to do some preventative worming with my herd.
I have the following rabbits and their weights:
Nemesis - 4yr old (false dwarf) Polish doe, 2.6 lbs
Artemis - 5 mo Silverfox/NZ cross doe, 3 lbs
Niambi - 5 mo English Lop doe, 7 lbs
Harold - 2yr old English Lop buck, 9 lbs

What is an effective and affordable brand of wormer, and what dosages would each rabbit need? Thank you in advance.

I don't know that we have any, I just wanted to be sure. My buck and one of my does dropped some weight, but it's slowly going back on, and just wanted to be double sure everyone is healthy and that it was a feed change issue.

I would hesitate to medicate them without the advice of your vet. If you changed the feed and the weight change was temporary I don't think worming is necessarily a good thing.

I have given antiparacitics to my heard, but one of the buns had EC and it was a preventative against a specific threat.

Preventative worming is a good idea if you show your rabbits, or even if they eat hay on a regular basis.

Many people use 1% Ivomec injectible solution for cattle. It treats fur mites and many internal parasites. This is usually given orally at a rate of 1/10cc per pound of body weight. For prevention, one dose is fine. But if you're actually treating for a known parasite, it is usually best to dose again 10-12 days after the first dose.

Mine get free choice hay all day, every day. Plus, there are other animals around the property that we come into contact with. My sister is good about keeping up the worming on her horses and goats, but nothing for her rabbits.
