For those who might not know -our rabbitry is "Tiny's Texas Legends". I'm tenatively keeping five does for future breeding and I would like to finally get them named. One of them may be going to another breeder - in which case they can change her name.

You can click on the thumbnails to enlarge the photos.

Doe #1 - Currently called "Sweet Pea" - she will be part of my light gray program and is the #1 pick of the litter(s) for does. She is a really nice size girl and will probably get a decent size.

Doe #2 - may be going to another breeder - very nice - will also be a large doe. Has a sweet personality but sometimes bossy.

Doe #3 - currently called "Calamity Jane" but I'm wondering if she should be called "Katie Elder". She's spoiled rotten - loves humans - but will chase after her sisters and isn't fond of other rabbits at all (whereby the others mainly get along).

Those three does will be used in my Light Gray program and to give you an idea - the buck I'm keeping was named "Big Jake" after a John Wayne movie. I'm open to the idea of using the names of famous women from the West - or Texas towns - or whatever. I just want some sort of a Western theme to the names.

These last two girls will be used in my program for breeding whites since their dad is white. I'd still like some sort of a Western theme - but maybe something different - like Indian tribe names - or famous Indians or something else. I'm even open to famous actors/actresses for this line.

I will also have a steel line - but they are going to be named after guns (I think) - like Remington, Baretta, etc.

Doe #1 - Lil One

and finally

doe #2

Yes - she lops one ear but she can hold it up when she wants to.

Thanks in advance to all of those who help!

Very cute!
Looks like My Flemmies!

Hmm name ideas huh?

Doe 1
Dacey (means my lil Southerner)

Doe 2
Annie (as in Annie Oakley)

Doe 3
Drawing a blank on this one sorry

Doe 1
Ayasha (means Lil one)

Doe 2
Citlali (means Star) because she looks like a lil Diva ^_^

Having a tiny teddy lionhead bunny at home with non-bunny cat ears, the long ears are the first thing to strike me- only ear names come to mind: Earine, Hilleary, Earlaine (I really need to see more bunnies!)

Beautiful bunnies

Gotta love the Western/Southern names :wink

Both of my buns have country/western-related names: Wrangler & Aura :)

Anywho, I really love the name Dacey (as listed above); I think that's really cute! :inlove:

How about Loretta Lynn? Or Lorena (from Lonesome Dove)? Then there's Sissy (like from Urban Cowboy)...um Patsy Cline, Carlene Carter...just throwing some out there! I could probably go on and on and on!

Thanks everyone - still looking for more ideas.

I'm leaning towards Belle Starr (sp?), Katie Elder, Annie Oakley - basically - the more historical ones...but I am considering one that is from a movie..

How about Dolly Parton? :p

I'm not a big fan of Dolly Parton and I picture her more from Tennessee than Texas.

One name I am considering is John Wayne's "wife's" name from McLintock....

Katherine Gilhooley McLintock

I always liked the actress - especially when she starred against John Wayne.

I kind of like Dacey....but that has more to do with the south than the West.

I may just go with old "Wild West" type movies and pick out the character names from women in them....in which case Lorena could work (I've never seen Lonesome Dove).

I gotcha ;)Well Lorena is a very pretty name! And "Lonesome Dove" is actually a book series, but they made it into a movie.
