Check out some shows in your area. They are usually many breeders of almost all breeds. Some will bring rabbits for sale. If anything, it can be a great place to meet a breeder and look at the different breeds.
You could also check a local rescue or humane society. Some do have rabbits. As you are looking for a pet, it doesn't really matter that there will be no pedigree and will probably be spayed or neutered. Websites like Cragislist (classifieds site) will sometimes have people rehoming rabbits. You do need to be cautious with it, but you never know what will be there.
