I have a bissel deep cleaner but I had a red gatorade or Koolaid stain appear on the carpet. (kids! :grumpy:) so I worked on it with a prespotter and it just wasn't coming clean so I went online to see if I could find something. I wondered if Vinegar might work.

Vinegar and Baking Soda. I got the Baking Soda in a small glass bowl and then I took Vinegar with me to add and pour the mixture over the stain. Now I have a machine to suck that up but if you don't you could make a paste or something. It's really fizzy too.

I let it bubble and then used the suction only on the cleaner and sucked it up, then used plain water and rinsed it with the machine. The stain is gone and it was BAD and dried.

My carpet is sort of a light tan/brown.

It's really worked well as a prestain for me! I think I may save a lot of money on prespotter now! LOL!

We'll see how it all dries and whatnot. Hopefully I won't have big spots of lighter carpet or something :p

I used exactly what you did and I ended up with spots of lighter carpet. Let me know what happens to yours.

Susan:)

I've used straight vinegar in the past and it's worked pretty well for taking out stains. Right now we have dark brown carpet, so stains are pretty much not an issue, but we have to move by the end of the month and who knows what kind of flooring we'll have then.
