hi i am new here but i desperatly need help myrabbit einstien has gunk all round his eyes and one of his ears hasflopped. the rest of him seems to be in perfect working order but i amworried he has myxie because his eyes are almost closed now



please could someone tell me wot they think thankyou - he is only 15 weeks

I think he needs to see a vet. It's very hard to know what's wrong with him over the net...

i no its just that i cant take him to the vettill tomorrow and i just wanted to see if anyone could help today withthe sypmtoms and everything. but yeah he is seeing a vet asap

How long has he been like this? Any other symptoms?Drinking/eating normally? Where is he kept (inside, outside,access to wild animals)? Is he sneezing/acting listless?

To help his eyes some, you could take a soft,clean wash cloth, wet it with some warm water, and very gently, wipehis eyes. It should help get the gunk off and make him more comfy.

he is kept outside and i think there is apossibility that he has been in contact with a wild rabbit, he has hadthe symptoms for 4 days but has not been sneezing or anything like that

is there a cure for myximitosis? or is this somthing that would just prolong his suffering and may not even work?

Where do you live that you are worried aboutmyxo? I'm just wondering because your rabbit could also havepastuerella or something else. If you are in the US, the onlypart that has much myxo is the west coast, and that is supposed to havea boom/bust cycle in the wild rabbit population. It's muchmore prominant in Britain and Australia, where we have members from aswell.

In any case, the previous posts have good info. I was just curious where you were.
