My 13 year old vacuum finally died. So I went out this morning and bought.......drumroll.........a Dyson Animal (the purple one)!! I can't wait for my housekeeper to tell me how much she likes it (lol).

Awesome! I have a Dyson dc24 which is smaller but does a heck of a job sucking up the dirt, dust and fur. It has eaten a lot of hay too lol I should have gotten the Animal but I bought the vacuum before I got my first bun.

I am sure the housekeeper or anyone else using it will love it. The cleanup is so hassle-free too!

Can I please be your housekeeper?!
Do I sense a little Dyson envy here, LOL! The extension wand it has is going to make it a lot easier for her to clean the fur off of my ceiling fans. I'm sure she will be ecstatic.

What Patti, you don't vacuum?:headsmack

Congratulations on your new Dyson.

Susan:)

Lol, I do vacuum everyday in the bunnyroom. The rest of the house is up to the housekeeper. I felt really guilty asking her to clean the bunny room. I have a dedicated vacuum for that room, though. The new Dyson is for the rest of the house, which accumulates significant amounts of fur just from playtimes. I do intend on taking the Dyson into the bunnyroom for periodic cleanings, just not everyday (or maybe not even every week, lol).

My Dyson is the smaller DC18 model, but I do love it. Since my house is small and has wood floors, the small model works very well for me. It is amazing how much fur gets pulled out of the rugs!

I really love how Dysons have a second HEPA filter over the exhaust, so dust isn't blown back out into the room. (On my old cheapie vacuum, I could see the dust coming out the back of it.) It really helps my allergies.

I went through a phase of wanting a shop-vac for the rabbit room, but ended up returning it, as it was no more powerful than my Dyson, and it was much louder and more difficult to empty/clean.

I have been thinking about getting the Animal attachments, but haven't yet, as they are quite expensive. (The only thing that makes an Animal version an "Animal" is the extra attachments, the Low-Reach Floor Tool, and the Mini-Turbine Head. Many of the full-size Dyson models can be found in regular and Animal versions, with the only difference being the attachments.)

to heck with the vacum i want me on of those "housekeepers" you talk about, lol

I am very jealous that you have a dyson :( lol. I laughed last year when i found out my sister in law (who never cleans) had a Dyson?!?!?!?!?!?! it is going to waste at her house, but w hat can i do,lol

The only thing I don't like about mine, is that there is one spot that can get clogged with hay, and is really difficult to un-clog. After dealing with that twice, though, I have learned to use the hand broom to sweep up the larger piles of hay, and Ihaven't had a problem since.
