Thanks guys
I got back about 20 minutes ago.... yawn! I had x-rays, twice, but they came back fine... The doctor I saw first said he thought it might be calcific tendonitis? Where part of your tendon calcifies, and some sort of exercise could set it off, but I'm glad it wasn't that cos he said that the pain can last a long time... 9
After the x-ray I saw a different doctor who just said 'oh I expect you've just pulled a muscle, it'll be fine in a day or 2...' Nowhere near as friendly as the first! :X
I have to admit, I thought it was all a big fuss about nothing. Basically, my brother just got his first flat, and he suffers with Aspergers so needs a lot of help, so me, him and my parents went to Ikea to get him some furniture etc. I decided to try and play Little Miss Helpful, and lifted some of the furniture boxes. They weren't overly heavy and I don't remember hurting myself lifting them, but soon after my shoulder started to hurt a little. Came home, spent some time online etc, and it was still uncomfortable, but not overly so. This evening me and Steve went to get a few groceries and stuff, and within that hour it went from being quite painful to unbearable pain that had me in tears and crying whenever the car went over a bump in the road. So Steve made me call NHS direct, who said 'yeah, go straight to A&E please!'
So that was my fun evening! Didn't get to eat anything until just now, and feel pretty rubbish now.... My shoulder is still sooo painful, I have to prop my arm up as it pulls on the socket if I don't. I can move the lower half of my arm though, so long as it's supported. Not the top half. Dressing etc is going to be interesting...Taking my bra off for the x-rays was fun- thank God for the female nurse lol!
They told me to take paracetomol and ibuprofen for the pain- I just nodded and smiled, remembering my decent painkillers left over from my operation lol....
Ugh, what a fun evening! :?
