I know this might sound odd but i have scoured the web and cant find an answer. My kiara had a full pan of bedding but in a matter of days it has disappeared now i know you might think hey have you checked the floor which i have and nothing the bedding is just gone.... My conclusion is that she ate it also she has been making some funky squeaks lately that i have not heard in any of my 13 rabbits i have delt with over the years :/

Just a few questions. What type of bedding is it? Is your rabbit still eating, drinking, and pooping? Is her poop smaller than usual, irregular shaped, or mushy? Is she eating her normal amounts of food? Any abnormal behavior such as teeth grinding, sitting in a corner hunched up for long periods, or changing positions frequently?

Don't give any more of that bedding would be my suggestion, obviously it's being eaten.

My rabbit Chico would start to eat all his bedding when I used to put certain types in there that was fluffy and he thought was food. I had to start taking it out. I thought he was going to die, but he chugged along fine after eating half the damned bedding I had in his cage. I did nothing special to help him digest it, but then again I think he has a gut of steel. When I went on vacation last year for 3 days and left him with a friend of ours that also has rabbits in the area he and his sister stopped eating COMPLETELY for 3 days. She went to the vets to get them something and once I got back home they started eating normally again. No GI problems no nothing. Same when I took them to South Carolina with me. They stopped eating for 2 days. Finally start eating on the 3rd or 4th day.

Shes pooping normal i haven't changed anything in her cage stage i have pellet pine bedding that expands and turns to dust when wet in her litter box and then i have pine shavings in the bottom of the cage for comfort :/ she has allways hid in the corner hunched up since i bought her she was a rescue i thought maybe with time she would relax. though she has been making a funny new noise i cant figure out what it is cause it has mix of a cry and some other noise i have never heard before

What is she usually fed each day? Do you free feed a grass hay?

Possibly the shavings and bedding she has been eating is upsetting her stomach. Just because now she is making this noise I would get her asap to the vet. I have two rescues and it's going to take a while for them to get used to you. How much time do you spend with her? Do you take her out and just sit with her and allow her to come over to you? I had to do that with both my rescues I got at the same time.

I'm concerned about you saying she is making noises now.

She dont like that i pick her up out of her cage but she squats down and lets me. so she gets to sit outside of the cage daily though if she wants my attention i was leaving her to innate cause i didnt want her to feel that i am trying to attack cause she is a rescue and i have no idea what the original owner is like

First stop giving her bedding she eats, second, she needs more hay than just a ball she has to work at to get. She needs free choice hay. Also be sure you are giving her the right amount of rabbit pellets and, tha she has fresh water at all times.

It sounds like she is trying to get more fiber and, giving her easy access to hay is what you need to do to let her have the fiber she needs. Also make sure she has rabbit safe wood chews.

Finally get her to a vet, have her teeth checked as well as a GI and general heath check to be sure everything is okay.

By her actions, I'd guess she is like my Tippy was, kept in a cage and fed only pellets so, she assumes any pellet is food. You can't use pellet bedding with those rabbits until they learn that not all pellets are food. one of the recycled paper bedding or just hay for bedding would be better for her.

OK I have two rescues that I have been working with since November 2013. Instead of you picking her up all the time, because I sure as heck can't pick up one of my rescues, Lady, a Holland Lop. Put the cage on the floor, open the door and let her out. You pick a small area, and I just posted this in another post, but like the hallway and bathroom. That way, you are in the hallway and she can run to the bathroom away from you if she wants to go to a safe area.

I would get some treats like a little banana, apple, whatever and put it in front of you and that way you would be building trust with her to come to you and start to trust you more. Do not touch her or anything. Let her come to you. I know it's tempting to grab the bunny but don't. Like you said and I know with rescues, we don't know their history. She could have been in a house with kids that wanted to pick the bunny up all the time and it drove her nuts.

Give her a box of hay. I buy the Dunlea Tidy Feeder that goes directly into the cage and isn't a mess and she can eat hay to her hearts content. But she needs hay for her teeth and digestion.

Scrap all the bedding and if you have to put a normal small bath towel in there for her to lay on. If she is using the bathroom in the cage and you are not litter box training her, get one of the corner plastic bathroom containers that sticks into a corner of the cage for her to use the bathroom in.

I hope this helps and you start working on a relationship with her in which she is trusting with you!
