Welcome aboardnewbie,

Not sure what you mean. Does she have any baldspots? Is she itching alot? Could be asign of fur mites. How long has she been losing herhair? How's her appetite? poops look normal?activity decreased?

Hi Anna!

It seems to differ with my 6 buns.

S'more just finished a mild molt and it took about 3-4 weeks. It myhave been induced by the stress of a new cage, changing the location ofthe cage, and the addition of new baby Binkie. To add to it, Binkie isnext to S'more and is using S'more's old cage.

You can help the process along by brushing them.

I try to give them some fresh pineapple at molting to help pass the extra intake of hair from grooming themselves, too.

Thank you, I'll get some pineapple. And i think Imay be feeding him more than what I gave him in fall, so I am going tocut down a bit.
He usually has a full bowl of food all the time.

Make sure you get fresh pineapple...not canned. I usuallyget it from the salad bar so I don't have to buy a wholefresh pineapple.

Diet, weight, temp changes, and stress have all been a factor in theamount of shedding and length of molt time in my experience.

We started a fixed diet for all of our buns. Limited pellets and treats, unlimited timothy hay, and daily greens.

All of the buns look much healthier, softer and shiny fur, and have alllost weight. They all shed a lot less and are able to keep themselvescleaner because they can "reach" their whole body.... ..including theirpoopie butts .

When I got my first three buns, the breeder (who was kinda sketchy)told me just give them pellets. Well, I had three fat, lethargicbunnies. When I read about them needing hay and limited pellets, Ichanged their diets and exactly what Jim said happened.:)
