After loosing my mini rex today.. I was reading on the bloating/gas problem. And we fineally got the run hurry up and built it so they can get some exercise.. It's 21 feet long, 2 feet wide.. And the door is 3 feet.. Its dirt and haves pebbles,

Here are a few pictures of it.. Its not done yet.. Still gotta put an cardboard box in for them. And water bowl, Box for hay.. Just didnt have the time because it was start to get cold and raining..

It's not the greatest but it works great.. They all loved it.. When we put our Chocolate Mini Rex out there.. He was running up and down and was shaking hes tail like an dog!! LOL!!!

This is Spidy in the run!

This is Alex the LionHead! Just before the raining was coming.. And got him out of there!

That's great, Misty! Lotsa room for binkies!

I'm guessing it's not covered? Could you put a tarp or some plywood up to keep the rain off and any predators out?

I also suggest, as well as the cardboard box to play in, get a cardboard concrete form (also called a Sonotube)from the building supply centre and cut it down into 2-3 foot lengths, then put one or two of the tubes in there for them to run through.

Hope that helps!

looks great! a tarp covering would make your life easier too if you have to get in and pursuade a bunny to leave the run! mine always play me up when it's raining;)

you can have fun customizing their run too:bunnydance:

The bunnies wont stay out there when its raining.. They will be watched by us when they are out there for a few mintues to run around.. But you guys have an good point though... Mr. Spidy jumped on the back board and was holding on top of the board... But he didnt make it over.. And he haves an bad leg.

That is so great Misty- you said u were gonna get them a run!!! :). That will do them the absolute world of good to have a good run and a leap around every day, especially as I know you have so many buns, so don't have the room or time to keep them in huge hutches.

Bet they were binkying all the way!!! :p

I agree with getting it covered- maybe some strong wire just over the top? Just to stop any predators....or them escaping if you have your back turned? I dunno about you, but around here we have Red Kites, so our run is secure top and bottom!!!

All we have around here is dang cats! But they are too affraid to come in our yard. Due to dogs that we have!! HaHa!
But we will figure something out for them.. It was cold out today to do anything.. But thanks Jen!!!

Lol yeah- I'd like to see anything come into our garden too.

WHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Out come all six dogs at the absolute speed of light lol.

Lucky our two cats are just so used to them. They are just like 'yeah.....so what? Come and nuzzle me' lol!!

lol.... Too Funny!!

Even the squirrels are to scared to come in our yard.. Our dobeman girl hates them!

Lol our dogs have no tactics too. They could never catch anything. They are such puppies still and just go out their at full speed barking. And when they DO start stalking, it is US, and we see them straight away, but they have no idea, and think they are doing really well.

Hahahaha bless them. We just humour them, trying to stifle our laughs as we are like 'hey....look!' *points* .

Dude great run!!!!!!!

The only thing i see is that the buns could get through the boards of the fence. If they really wanted to.

maybe some wire or something their.

but yes I say :highfive: to that run

Ah yes Mrs PBJ- i didn't even notice that. But it looks like they could. Pippin could get through the absolute tiniest space at the very top of the partition in the run, when he was scared enough my the leaf blower, so my Dad had to quickly leap in, get him, and has now place a bar of wood in the gap all the way across, to stop him!!!

We have checked the boards.. They cant get threw them. We went all the way down. There are boards on the bottom because they can get under nethe it.. But we have went threw it. There are boards on both sides of the fence..

WTH!! Calling me an Dude!!

Lol haha yeah. At first the buns got quite....nervous with the barking, but after the years and years they've had to put up with it, they just ignore them.
I am still surprised sometimes, when the buns are in their run, the dogs come shooting past, barking like crazy, and the rabbits don't bother even looking up, and just keep nibbling the grass in a calm, happy manner. LOL!
