My New Cavies!

I've fallen for Guinea Pigs and by March/April I should be breeding them! :biggrin2:

I picked up two abyssinians yesterday, hopefully going to be concentrating on this breed first and picking up a few more different colours in the next few months.

The piggys I got yesterday are sooo cute! They are just pups. I haven't named them yet though.

First piggy, coat isn't great, still very young so it might improve. I love it's colour, looks like it's wearing eyeliner!

Second cavy is an albino and has a really nice coat! It's eyes aren't really that pink lol, there lighter

Males have a "Y" with the dot and females have the "Y" without the dot

I just sexed them before I read this! I have two males, well I am pretty sure I do or else some funny kind of females So I'm going to pick up two females between now and April. I'm kind of happy I have two males so I will have a pair of each to keep each other company

Any name suggestions anyone?

Also if I were you, I would only keep one male, only because if you breed one of them to your females and then take him out and put him back with the other male, then they will most likely fight.

I read something that said for every male you have living together, you need 5 females so they don't fight I just read that so I don't know if it is accurate.

Huckleberry, by smooth coat boar lives by himself. Chalk, my Aby boar he currently lives with 3 sows until the end of October, so they can get preggo

I used to breed guinea pigs, i did neat colors like dark eyes blonds and some others. I also bred the hairless and teddy bear furred ones. it was so fun! Wish i could have guinea pigs now but its either those or bunnies and i LOVE my Smudgie poo!

I am thinking of naming the other one Pinky but I'm still now sure lol!

I settled on the names Gizmo for the DEW and Pinky for the PEW

I had them a week on Sunday, Gizmo isn't as shy as Pinky. If someone walks past the cage suddenly Pinky runs into his hidey house but Gizmo won't. They are always pop corning around their cage it's so cute!

Oh I didn't know you had piggies. Yhey are really cute! Since I got my second male, Sherbert, I have really warmed to them much more. My first guy Rusty is incredibly shy that it was hard to interact with him but Sherbert is much more outgoing and I love his little noises. Well, I can't blame Rusty, he thought for months he was some sort of strange rabbit.
