So, for a birthday present my mom paid my license, and also paid my tattoo.
It's a memorial, for my Dad
It'll be a wooden cross, with a Canadian scarf around it's 'neck' (like an untied scarf)
It'll also have a military Barrett hung on the top of the cross, as most people hang up their hat after a days work.

I get it on the 27th which would be 3 days before trhe 3rd anniversary he was .. found . It's a bitter sweet feeling, i'm excited i get a tattoo, but im not so happy for the reason.

I'm getting it put on my left shoulder blade.

When I was in treatment for m anxiety and depression, my doctor realized I was my own worst enemy, and we named this 'enemy' or my 'bad self' Sarah, and she lived on my left shoulder, and she was the one telling me 'you cant do this, oh you look bad today'
So, she's getting replaced :)

Yeah I cant' wait to see it done!

If it makes you feel better; my brother is terminally ill and I am getting a tattoo for him as well. It is a great thing :)

Nooooo! Painkillers (Even tylenol) will make you bleed...bleeding may not hold the ink as well! Just an FYI!

I hardly bled at all.

The begining was HORRIBLE. then 15 minutes in or so, it wasn't as bad.. and by the end i was getting bored, and playing with the seat in front of me
At first , my mom held my hand.. and I bit her. aha
Then she switched to my oldest brother (who's 30, with 14 tatoos)
By 30 minutes in, I was gripping the back of the chair (they had me straddle the chair)and ironically, because i was holding so tight.. the arm of the shoulder I was getting tattoo'd went numb.. so I told the guy and he kept on going without break until i told him the 'pins and needles' was starting.

Anyways, we went to my brothers house after to show his girlfriend, and she loves it. Then it started to 'leak' and he cleaned it for me (you know your brother loves you when.. haha).

I'm home, pretty drowsy.. i think i'm running a fever so i'm going to lay down and post the pictures tomorrow.

:)

Never take painkillers or any substance.

Most people overthink it and start to panic, it really isnt that bad its just a matter of mind over pain. Most of the side effects are due to the bodies responce to the anxiety over it, not the procedure itself.

Remember now dont pick, dont play with it, no tight clothing, just leave it be. It will feel like a mild sunburn for a few days.

Pics or it didn't happen, LOL :p
Agreed! Well done Brandy, I'm sure you must be quite proud! I've never gotten one myself since I hate needles :p
I pass out with needles,
but the guy showed me the 'gun' and it didn't look like a needle, nor did it feel like one.
To me, it felt like a constant cat scratch, not one ov er and over, but like.. well, constant. aha
I'm not a fan of cats either, so I was pretty annoyed.
I put some polysporin on it before we went to the grocery store this morning (cottage this afternoon) and got a big 'oil' mark on my moms seat. Ooops. She was pretty cool about it though aha.

It looks great Brandy :biggrin2: I got queasy just looking at it but okay :p I'm glad you went through with it and I'm sure you are too. Nice that your family was very supportive :)
