I posted here about a week ago saying i had my first filling and it still hurts when i eat ice cream and drink cold water - how long does it hurt after?

Whats wrong with it?

Please reply i do not want to go abck to the dentist.:(

I had a few fillings when i was a kid, and just recently i had to have a small filling done next to a tooth that had an old filling, my dentist removed 2 old fillings and replaced then and one hurt for quite a while after. I stopped by the office after a few days, just to be sure nothing was wrong.

They looked it over, even took an xray and found nothing wrong. he told me something like 5% of the population with have that happen, and over a few weeks time it goes away. The dentist said he's had one his do it, took about 3 months for his, he said he babied it till it felt fine. I think mine took 8 weeks and now it's normal again.

I didn't read the article posted, but just wanted to share i had this happen as well, and that you can have other fillings and never experience it. Hope yours is feeling better now.
