My bunny hates me!!!!! But likes my boyfriend!

I adopted him recently from a shelter, he growls at me, wants nothing to do w me, stomps his feet and runs, yet, he will go right up to my boyfriend!!! I sit on the floor w him for hours at a time, Try to give him treats and nothing. I'm thinking he doesn't like woman maybe? It was a toss up between him and another. I feel terrible thinking this, but maybe I should bring him back and get the other poor guy sitting there at the shelter???

Are you perhaps wearing perfume or doing something that rabbits don't like? Sit near him but ignore him & he should start wondering why you aren't paying any attention. But if you're going to give up, it probably should be sooner rather than later.

I agree with lake! Try not to mess with him and ignore him! Sit next to wear he is on the floor and read or surf the web and just ignore him and eventually he will be curious... And if he does come over to check you out, don't try and pet him at first just let him initiate all the contact. He should warm up! But I agree also check your smells perfum...etc. Our cookie HATES when I wear perfume! Luckily I hardly ever wear it anyway

Don't feel bad thinking that your bunny doesn't like you. Seems like he's bonded to your boyfriend first. Could be smells. Could be he had a bad experience with another female. It will take time for you to gain his trust. The advise already given is good and will help the bonding process. Have yourboyfriend sit with you, then maybe the bun won't be that terrified.

I agree - give it some time. I suggest taking him in a small room (I used the bathroom) and letting him hop around while you lay on the floor and read a book. When I first got my bun, I did this for hours and hours to gain his trust. I piled up some of his favorite snacks near me and just ignored him. Eventually, he was hopping all over me and now we're best buds. I'd give him some time.

Try to work with him when your boyfriend isn't around and bribe bribe bribe! Lol. I hear you though, both my girls love my boyfriend and couldn't care less about me most of the time. It'll take time but he should come around.
