Wonder if anyone can help....got two bunnies got male first who was neutered then got female. Gradually introduced them and they were getting on great. Had female spayed last week and had to keep her inside while she recovered. Tried putting them back in run and male chased her and bit some fur off. He never did that before and now I'm really worried they won't get on anymore.

Any advice greatfully received!!!

They smell different when you bring them home from the vets, my cats even hissed and batted at our other cat when she got spayed, they know something is different.

You will have to start over again and introduce them as if they've never known each other....that's why alot of times people will say don't introduce until both are fixed or get them both fiixed at the same time.

Hopefully he accepts her again.

I read somewhere that you can put vanilla fragrance or extract on the bunny returning from the vet to mask the smell. What about giving the bunny a bath with dog shampoo?

My two bunnies are halfway bonded ( they do not live together) , the male is neutered but the female has to go in for surgery next week, i'm worried this could reverse everything so if there is hope to mask the smell and trick the male that would be great. Certainly there has to be a way around letting a vet visit ruin a bond and having to start all over.
