OK any info would be greatly appreciated! Our Bunny some how got out of her pen in late july and was attacked by something. We took her to the Vet (Dr. Bennett which cares for small animals). She was put on Antibiotics and Pain med. everythiing seemed to be going perfect! She was almost back to normal. Then last week she got weak, splayed front legs but was still eating and drinking. She went back for a visit today and put her on more antibiotics and pain med. along with something for her gut. Now that she is on all of these meds. she don't want to eat. We are feeding her critical care food for now. Its almost like her muscles in her legs don't want to work. So has this ever happened to anyone out there? :nosir:

I suppose it could be a side effect of the medications possibly. Keep encouraging her to eat and try to perk her up if you can. One of my bunnies is handicapped and he likes to have the fan blow on him. He likes fresh parsley and occasionally a small piece of watermelon. He also likes massage and grooming with a slightly damp washcloth. He almost always wants to eat after he gets his meds. I think it comforts him. They know you are trying to help them so don't give up.

Antibiotics can sometimes cause a lack of appetite. You could discuss trying a different one with your vet, or you will probably just need to continue syringe feeding until your bun gets her appetite back.

It's possible the infection is affecting your rabbits neurological function, causing the front limb weakness. Another possibility is the parasite e. cuniculi. It more often will cause hind limb weakness/paralysis, but it can also affect the front limbs. Treatment is with Panacur(fenbendazole) and metacam. So may be something to discuss with your vet asap.
