We use a projector in the family room instead of a TV, so it's hooked up to the desktop computer with speakers hung next to the projector mount.
I use this to play music for the rabbits during the day as they are in the same room.
I keep it at a reasonable volume for their wee ears.

I find this has a very relaxing quality; there are no clanging drums or harsh piano notes and the mixed vocals add to the feeling of not "being alone". It also doesn't go way down and very high during crescendos, so I don't need to constantly adjust the volume.
There is enough variety that most of the songs meld into one long song, so it never seems like I'm playing the same thing. The songs with vocals can certainly be picked out but they, on shuffle, don't play so often that it seems like it's too often.
I do see a difference between days I inadvertently don't turn on the music and I have to run errands for a length of time versus days where I'm out and it IS on. When I get home on the days where it's playing the rabbits are flopped sleeping, feet kicked out, or playing with toys. On the off days they seem anxious for attention and to have out time. They seem more...frazzled without it.
What's your style?
Do you? Don't you? Why? Why not?
Pros and cons?
