I joined last week to get some other people's advice on whether or not my bun-bun was obese. I quickly learned that his diet was all wrong, but we're on the right track and I'm excited to see him become more active.
I also recently learned that he's a Castor Rex.
I adopted him at 1 and 1/2 years-old and he's now 2. I saved him from the life of sitting in the back of the pet store in a tiny cage all day long and I also helped another rabbit from the same place find a home with my loving younger sister.
I look forward to the bunny play-dates. :D
His name is Machibo, pronounced moe-shee-bo or moe-chi-bo(or as I like to call him Mochi-ball, cuz he's chubby).
He's named after a Native American tale about a demi-God who traveled the world taking the form of a rabbit. I named him this because the markings on his face remind me of Native American war paint.
He's a picky princey, who loves chewing on everything except the toys I buy him and I couldn't be happier. I look forward to seeing him when I come home from work and he does the same for me. =:3

This is Machibo meeting Sighmon (the second rescue bunny).

welcome :)

just so you know, rabbits don't really do play dates (as in being "casual friends") - they need to be fixed and then bonded and *never* separated in order to be friends ;)

They're both fixed. So even if they see each other often it won't do, they have to live with each other? My younger sister lives an hour away from me, so I guess they'll have to be separated when I visit?

yeah, they get really territorial if not bonded and could get into vicious or even deadly fights >< you'll need to house them separately when you visit.

it *might* be possible for them to play together on neutral territory (the way you'd do if you were starting to bond them)... but it wouldn't be a particularly thrilling experience for them and you definitely couldn't leave them alone unsupervised.

I agree with Jennifer that they might be able to play together, just supervised. If they seem comfortable around each other like grooming each other and laying down by each other, then they just might be ok playing. Just keep an eye out for any irritation or aggression.

They look really cute together:)
