Ok, I hate this situation, i'm moving an i haveto get rid of my rabbit as i'm going to a different country. I havefound someone who wants to take her and i know them and i know theywill take very good care of her. The problem is that she live inside intemperatures from about 65-70 degrees F. and the cage they have isoutside and it's about 35 degrees F. out now. Is that to cold to moveher outside? or should i have them wait until it is warmer? i want thischange to be as smooth as possible as i understand it will be extremelystressful on her already. The new cage is a wooden hutch with wiresides about 6' long by 4' wide and has a slanted roof on top so it isvery nice. If anyone knows about the temperature please write back! Ihate to do this, but i must...:(

Thanks for the help!

You must be so sad that you have to get rid of your bun:(...

Rabbits and other animals can generate coats quickly, but they mightsuffer if just popped into such cold temperatures, it may take a week.

If possible (meaning it would be too much of a hassle) wait till itswarmer or put the rabbit onto the porch or in a seperate room that hasa lower temperature than the rest of the house, and slowly get himacclimated.

Or, you could put the bun outside, protect it even more from the wind(put up windblocks) and give him/her a heating lamp and move it fartherand farther away as it gets it's coat.

I would do whatBrambleBriar86said. I would also take it slow andeasy because I had a New Zealand die from tempatures going from hot tocold. I would be care full thought I think she'll be all right. Hercoat will become thicker and she become acclimated to the tempature andweather. I wouldn't worry about her going from a different area of ahome to a new home, but I wouldn't move her so quickly from an insidehouse to a new house which is outside. Do what Bramble Briar86 said.

Bramble Briar iscorrect move her slowly outside, m the new owners canalso wrap her hitch part of thecage with a tarpalso to stop a lot of t hewind and retain the heat . Or if theyhave a garage or shed theycould put her in whilethe weather warms up thatwill help also .
