Moving a Pregnant Rabbit..

Hey

One of my does is due in 6 days and I just bought a much better cage for her. I wasn't sure if I should move her to the new cage now before she starts nesting or after she gives birth.

She stresses easily, would moving her to the new cage hurt her or the babies?

You could do it before or after. If she is a first time mom I would recommend before.

Our rule of thumb is no movement 2 days before or 2 days after kindling

She's an experienced mother, she's had about 4 litters before.

I move them regardless. They do just fine even moving same day. Best to move before three days due.

And good news, I checked on her this morning and she's already collecting hay in her mouth and shoving it in the corner of her cage.
