First off, I'll explain the subject line of our Blog. Beans is the name of our bunny.

This is how that name came about: Currently we have 1 dog, 1 bird, and2 ferrets...and they are all female. As you can imagine, my husband hasbegan to feel pretty out-numbered by the amount of estrogen in thishouse. LOL. So when we adopted our bunny, who is male, he was happy tohave a bit more male testosterone floating around. So, since I had mostof the say in the naming of all the females (though he did suggest thebirds name, but I had final say, and I changed the spelling) so he wasgiven the entire responsibility of naming the bunny....so BEANS it was!!

Beans is male. Not 100% sure of the type (so if anyone has any ideas, feel free to let me know)

Our Zoo:
- Kibby (Cocker Spaniel / Lhasa Apso - Dog)
- Pecca (Cockatiel - Bird)
- Molly (Ferret)
- Sally (Ferret)
- Beans (Bunny)
- 6 fish tanks (from 10 liters to 100 gallons, this includes a 14inch Iridescent Shark named Trout)

What a cutie!! :inlove:

As noted in my answer to your intro post, congrats on being a littleLop mom! Let us know how Beans settlesin.

My Darry is a little broken (the name for the 'broken'colours) Holland Lop. She's black andwhite, looks like a little cow. I'm suresomebody will weigh in withthe correct breed and colour forBeans, lots of experts here!

I'm no expert, but I think it's pretty obvious that neither is your pet store!

I do have complete faith in my pet store. We boughtall of our fish there and our cockatiel. The only problem is that thegirl I was talking to was just a worker there and I usually deal withthe owners. Oh, and just to clearify, the pet store is locally own, theonly one in my town and the owners of the pet store have many coursesand degrees in animal stuff.. she listed everything out to me and evenshowed me her certificates and everything. But I will say that they aredefinitely more experienced in the fish/bird/lizards/hamstersareas..since they deal with those a lot more often...get this..sheknows the names of all fish types, by scientific names andeverything!!! Looks like you have a Holland,Fuzzyor Mini-Lop there.Hollands are small, they'll only be 3 lbs or so, the American Fuzziesare similar except their fuzzy, and the Mini's (believe it or not) arethe bigger breed, I think they're like 5 or 6 lbs.

So the question is, how old is he and how much does he weigh?

He is 2 mths old and he weighs .. I don't know.. maybe 0.5lbs?

Offhand I'd say you'd better check here for diet and other carerecommendations, I really don't trust that pet store! (Just makesure you start off feeding him what they were feeding him before, andchange it gradually).

They were feeding him Sun Seed (http://www.strictlypetsupplies.com/productdetails.php?sku=087535133069) and that is what I am feeding him.

And don'tcount on him absolutelybeing a boy, either.:rollseyes:Even the good pet stores can get that one wrong onyoung bunnies.

If he turns out to be a female my husband would probably sh*t...LOL (excuse the language)

LOL..I can't believe there is another Beans out there.

Well, it's been a few days since we've gotten our bun-bun. Kibby (dog),Pecca (bird) and Beans (bunny) are all very comfortable together. It'squite sweet to see all three of them walking around on the floortogether. :)

I am really enjoying having a bunny. I am head over heels for him.

Got a new bunny today. He (I think, unsure of sex for sure yet) is around 6wks old.. and I don't know the weight since I doubt my bathroom scale would even register him. LOL.

The 4th picture is with him next to my other bun, Beans who will be 6mths old on the August 25th.

I can't lay them down next to each other because Beans automatically starts to hump the new one. So bonding will have to be done through cage until Beans gets neutered.

New bun is nameless as of yet..{hubby wants to name it Weiners... Beans & Weiners)...I will post name once decided for sure.

very cute! they are both adorable!

what about Baked and Beans, String and beans, beans and rice, garbonzo and beans (like garbonzo beans. . .you could do this for any bean name: black, kidney, ect). . .

whatever you name him, i am sure it will be cute!

very cute bunnies!

to weigh my bunnies first i have to weigh myself..then i weigh myself holding the bunny and subtract the difference:)

Decided on the name 'Chili'. Will work for a male or female...when we do find out for sure.
:D
