A friend of mine had a kid 3 months ago and we're just trying to compile a list of tips and tricks people use that might not be so widely known for general baby care. (Like how to get your kid to sleep faster, diaper changing tricks to avoid... err, accidents, how to avoid hiccups, ect.)

Anyone got any tips to pass around?

My favorite thing i use on my kids and my daycare kids is a Sling or a kangaroo pouch it could b called...I had 2 free hands and the baby doesnt fuss since it is "on" you.

A drop of lemon juice for hiccups.

Put just a drop on babies lips, and when they suck up and pucker up, it usually gets rid of the hiccups..

Worked for mine and all my friends kids anyway...

Cajun folk remedy.

i've been wracking my brains all day to think of something to say on this thread - i've got two children so i should be able to come up with something:? the only thing i can think of is this - remember to make some time for yourself, and ignore all those oldies who say 'in our day....' this isnt their day anymore:)

Swaddling work wonders the baby will fight but it still gets them back to sleep fast.

A bouncer true bounder not the stable ones that are expensive but the cheap ones that really bounce.

Its not going to hurt the baby to cry sometime they are crying to cry I had to learn that with the twins they may be fight ing sleep or just being a butt that is a little older though like 3 months old that stage starts.

as that baby gets a little older for diaper changes if you put your hand over the babys tummy once you put the front flap on before you get the stickys on they cant kick it off.

A bouncer was my best friend the twin first three months of life. Even still I use it.

Make a pallet on the floor in the living room. For them to lay and play on we have one for the twins that perminate until they start crawling which they are almost there.

Oh just use the white oneys they dont have to look cute in the house cause its going to get stained. Also get some sleepers sense it still cold out they work great for around the house.

Oh and those thing with arms that zip up over there feet are great for taking the kids to the doctor so you dont have to undress them.

I just wanted to add. I saw there three months old the kids are about to start changing day by day now. They hit alot of mile stones.

They loved to really be talked to at this age. Really played with.

Also for hand eye coordination hold the bottle in front of them so they can try to grab it just for a couple of seconds. They will start grabbing it in about three weeks.

Tummy time with a lot of toy the kids will start picking what they like. And going toward those toys.

For instance Gianna like key toys. But niama likes her rattle and will take it out of gianna hand at 5 months old

BUt remember each kid is difference for instance at five months old. Gianna can sit up for about 3 minute before her back gets tired. As to where Niama Could care less about sitting up she is about to start crawling Niama can do it for about a minute but she is more interested in getting mobile and giana wants to be able to see. Gianna has not even started the crawl position yet.

So also find out what works for you. Things that work for me with the twins dont work for anyone else. Things that there daddy did worked for him like if there screaming and he calls he can make them be quiet. Or there mother she cant swaddle Niama but even at five months it still works for me.

Also the babyw ill start learning who she hcan get away with stuff with. Like with mom the girls go to sleep easy with me they know I don't like hearing them cry so they play the I want to be held game.

Everyone can give you advice but none of it may work some of it may work find what works for you. And I watch two so they play with each other longer then one

I have a few, even though i'm not a mum, it's from experience with my nephew and many babies I've watched, and the parenting course i just took.

When my nephew was younger, while changing his diaper he'd move a lot.
So I figured, if we put a baby wipe over his face (or eyes) by the time he figured to take it off, we'd be done. It worked, kept him busy and thinking so it was easier.

I have a book full, i'll post more later.

Swaddling is the best... My baby loves to wrapped all times and she sleeps great..

Saucers, My daughter also loves playing in hers.

We just got my daughter an Johnny Jumper buts called an Jenny Jumper because its for girls...
