Hello everyone I just noticed mochi has a weepy eye and it started last night. I wiped it with wet warm cotton last night and today. I also bought vetricyn gel and put it on both eyes. She is doing a lot better now. Should I do anything else?

Glad it seems to be helping. I had problems myself when I tried to use vetricyn gel. My horse had a weepy eye and I used it with him and it seemed to help. Well a few months later I needed to use it in his eyes again, and I don't know what happened to the gel after sitting a few months, but he started to act really irritated and trying to rub his eye. I had to hurry and flush it out with water and he was fine once I did that. I remeber reading someone elses review and they talked about how it caused problems with their cat. Just a heads up, just keep an eye out for any signs of irritation. I just use terramycin ointment now.

oh thanks for letting me know. When I applied it on my bunny he/she kind of wiped her/his eyes for a second then that's it. So I don't think it's irritating him/her .. . maybe ..

I think you'd definitely be able to tell. I think Mochi would rub and rub and rub at it if it was irritating him like it did my horse. My horse kept tossing his head around and trying to rub his head on stuff. As your bottle gets older, if you have to use it again, just be careful, and be ready to rinse the eyes out.

I just did the exact same thing for my girl who has weepy eye. I'll see if it works. I believe Terramycin is only available by prescription in California, but I may be wrong. Otherwise I would like to keep Terramycin on hand for all my pets.

My girls seems to have cleared up with the vetricyn gel. I'll probably keep putting it in for the next few days just to be safe.
