My rabbit Sonu has developed a particular mite infection due to which whitish crusts has developed on his eyelids, ears, toes, nose and mouth.I had consulted a vet and he had told me that it was a minor allergy and gave me some anti-skin inflammatory medicine and lotion but after treating him it with also no effective progress can be noticed. After searching on the net i have come to know that it is a mite infection from manges.I need your advice immediately about
the actual that should be used and its application and dosage.

Please help! :expressionless

Go to the yellow word "search" right under the pictures of rabbits. Enter "mange" & you will see what people posted about it recently. If you choose to use Revolution, it should be administered at a dose right for a cat of Sonu's size.

The mites could spread to your other rabbits, so you really should keep them apart for awhile so you don't have to treat all of them. Once the treatment is working, you will want to make sure no mites remain in any carpets your pets have been on. Sprinkle powered boric acid on the carpet & vacuum.

I hope he soon will be free of mites.

Revolution (Selamectin) would be a great way to go.
However a rabbits dosage is TWICE what a dog or cats dose is. Bunny dose is = 18mg/kg or 8mg/lb.

Your best bet is to treat ALL the animals in your house as it is very fast to get around. You will need to vacuum all the floors, wash all linens and clothing around any animals in the house (dogs and cats included) freeze anything for 48 hours if you cant wash it, toss or bake anything wooden if you want to keep it, change their cages regularly to avoid re-infection.
