It happens every year. I should be used to it by now. If I search back, I probably made a similar post last year.

I miss my son. Every summer he goes to visit his biological father for 5 weeks of the summer. It alternates between the first five weeks and the last five weeks. This year I had him the first part, and I enjoyed him immensely. I have the good fortune to be a teacher and did not work this summer...except for one project for the training center which was done within the first weeks.

Now he's with his dad. He will probably have fun. But...I miss my boy.

Anyone else out there with kids that go to another parent during the summer? That first couple of days without him is such a killer. :(

Well, from a slightly different perspective,my boyfriendhas been waiting FOREVER to havehis duaghterwith us for only a week...

He's her bio-dad, and lovesthe kiddovery much. Unfortunately, her mom is a bit standoffish, and won't return calls/emails/whatever. It is really tough on him not to get to see her on a regular basis, despite all his efforts.

We're trying really hard to get her for just a week this summer, but I don't think it will happen. Poor guy. He's pretty miserable.

Will be thinking of you, Minda

Well I had more of a post but short and sweet'll do. ;)

 to you Minda. He'll be back with you in no time.

*hugs*

I don't have that problem. My dad never wanted me that long. Seemed like anything over 4 days was to much. The one time we (brother and me) went to stay with him for a month we came back and my parents (my stepdad(my dad) and my mom) said they missed us to much to allow it again. I knew the truth he didn't want to have us that long again.

Anyways it's never easy to let your kids go more so when they are gone for so long.

I never had that issue although I did state hop as a kid in the summer. I am adopted so my next older sisters dad kinda took me under his wing. So I went to stay with him for three weeks in ATL. Then went to Chicago for 4 weeks to stay with my big momma.

Then came home my mom never had us in the summer. But I think after five kids she got used to it. Although she did call four times a day. But yeah sinse our family was so spread out we where never home on school holidays.
