my dam, had one kit survive, the kit is now 5 days old. I constantly clean the hutch daily, as well as the nesting box. she is wonderful with her baby. two days ago I noticed something that looked thick white film covered her eye like the color was there but it almost looked like it was hair, so i did and little looking online, about 20 mins goes by i go to check on her again, and it is coming off her eye. Not like discharge but in one piece like hair wet and together, she ends up getting it out and i assumed bc her velvet-like fur, maybe it was. well, today i see some again, but it's covering only half her eye, and if she blinks it moves around sometimes not there and sometimes it is. The closets Rabbit savvy vet is 78 miles from me. Also, she is my 1st bunny to have this issue at all. she is a mini rex, when i got her from a breeder for 4h i was told the rabbit was male, then she had babies... so my biggest question is should i take her to vet try to flush out with saline solution and a liquid seringe? also, would u remove kit to bottle feed in case its an infection, also my 1st baby bunny experience.

Could you possible share a picture? But if possible, yes get a vet to look at it. Even a vet who isn’t a rabbit expert will be able to help with her eye.

If it's just a clump of fur(which is what it would be if it's removeable/comes out), I would flush it out with plain sterile ophthalmic saline(natural tears, etc). Happens with my white dwarf hotots quite often, though just small clumps of fuzz. It might be happening with your bun so frequently because of the fur from the babies nest.

If it's the eye lens itself that's white(not removeable/doesn't come out) and/or there is white pus, this would require seeing a vet.
