Just want to see what other Mini Rex breeders/showers see in these two bucks. And to see if I'm posing them right :p

Sable Point: (age -just turned 3 months)

(I think he started moving by the time I snapped this one)

(better shot with a darker background):

(I think he needs to fill out a tad more but not 100% sure lol he's quite full, so it could just be how I posed him)

Lilac: (age - is about...9/10 weeks without looking back at his pedigree)

Now unlike the sable, this little guy leaned the whole time. :p Every time I posed him he would shift his weight to the left and lean with all his might)

(Looking at his right side you can see his right hind leg kicking out for him to lean lol)

They're still growing, but we're planning on taking them to show in another week or so. I don't think we'll be breeding the Mini Rex, but they look quite fun to show. :)

Sable Point: Very weak in the shoulders, flat over the HQ, pinched HQ, lacks depth of body. Has a good midsection though. Head & ears look to be okay.

Lilac: Less pinched in the HQ than the SP, better shoulders, nice topline, a little flat over the HQ - but not as bad as the SP, head & ears look to be okay, nice midsection.

All in all, I'd say the Lilac is much better than the Sable Point. How is their fur? Does it feel really dense & have good texture?

hmm...interesting. Their fur is great, very dense and has a really nice texture to it.

I agree that the lilac is better, although the sable, after re posing him does not look as bad as he does in the picture. I think that was my fault with posing him on a cloth instead of carpet and not aligning his feet correctly. Even though I do see that he's lacking in his shoulders (though it may be something thatevens out when he fills out?)

I see the faults that you're pointing out, and I'm going to try the pencil test with them and pose them correctly and get new pics up. :)

How old are they? He may fill out as he grows, but only time will tell. ;)

ETA: Nevermind, I saw that he's about 3 months... He might fill out a little more as he grows, but usually 12 weeks is when you start to see which direction they can head... I don't know if he will continue to fill out any more than he already has.

lol I was kind of thinking that too. We're planning on showing them the 21st of this month, we'll see how it goes and get the judge's opinion on them.

Either way, the sable clicked with me and the lilac clicked with my finance at the drop of a hat. So even if showing is out they'll still make good pets. :)

Charlotte? lol See you there ;)

I think it's too hard to judge type from a picture. I bet the SP is better than he is showing himself. He has incredible clean color. The lilac looks nice in the picture but again pictures can be decieving and at 3 months old they are going through their homely stage.

Yep Charlotte will be taking the minis and DHs there and will be poking around with a few other breeders. :)
