All three of my rabbits show chewing behavior that's enough to drive anyone crazy ('cause you must shadow them at all times when they're outside of their x-pens).

Last night, my one boy followed me into the bathroom when I went for a Kleenex. To be safe(r), I removed everything (wastebasket, toilet brush, toilet plunger) off the ground. I turned for a second and heard a disconcerting sound: my boy reaching up and nipping a tiny piece of rubber off of the toilet plunger.

I'm not worried about the rubber that he ate; I am worried about the possibility of him developing a gut-flora imbalance. Who knows what bacteria (or how much of it) one could get from nipping a used toilet plunger?

But e. coli does....:( And not to be graphic/gross, but you know where a toilet plunger has been. Even if it were used months ago (which is the case), I wonder if bacteria could still be living on it.

Oh no.... So sorry to read this and see it's you. I just read your other post(thread). April

April, by now you've figured out that any strangely-titled post is likely to be mine. ;)

I love my bun crew dearly, but I feel rather cursed when it comes to them. If they're not having a health issue caused by a genetic flaw, then it's due to something that they nipped when I looked away for a split second. (I literally move right behind them when they're out, and they still manage to sneak things that they shouldn't nip/eat. :()

He willingly eats chicken? That is wild!

Rabbits are funny when they know they have you wrapped around their little finger (so to speak). ;) Sounds like your little cottontail has a good life--especially the part about getting to rule the bedroom. :D
