I am furiously hunting some used rubber boots and some breeches for my son. I don't have a lot of money so I can't buy new ones since it's not like he's actually riding but we want to get the stuff so he can do showmanship again and try to do the supreme show. Last year we borrowed some breeches and he wore black muckboots..... :embarrassed:He has to be better dressed this year since there will be more competition and it's not as easy to borrow.

There's NOTHING out there!

I can certainly relate to this one. One of my best guy friends has the same problem and we recently drove all over northeastern Ohio looking for everything he needed. He eventually found what he wanted, but the cost was astronimical - far more expensive than what I purchased for myself just a few years ago when I was still riding. It was ridiculous!

I hope you're able to find everything your son needs. And I hope it doesn't cost you an arm and leg to get it.

Its good he is riding the proper way :biggrin2: None of that one handed stuff, swaggering around like a cowboy! He should be doing his rising trot and canter! :D Good luck at the supreme show!

Fran :) :hearts :brownbunny

Hey Pennie, did you try Ebay? Type in Riding Breeches... I got over 160 hits... some seemed reasonably priced. (Most seemed for girls, though. :dunno)

Edited to add: I really have to use the update button when I'm at work! (Great minds think alike?)

Searching for men's riding breeches narrows it down to about 4.

Good luck!

lovely! good luck!

PSH! Real horses are cow horses! He's not riding - he's just doing the showmanship classes to try for Supreme again! :) We're cowboy and cowgirl peoples here! LOL! You know my brother inlaw is a bull rider?

Anyhow, I checked ebay first, then horsetopia, equine.com, tacktrader, etc....

I finally went to a little store out east of Indianapolis. THey didn't have anything there but she was able to find a pair of rubber boots and a pair of breeches really inexpensive and I have to pick them up Friday! :) Now for a helmet? I think I might just get him a nice cover for his troxel helmet.

The biggest problem was that we were way out there and they finally called to tell me my truck was done. Great... but I don't know if I'll get back in time to pick it up......

They said they wouldn't pay for the rental car after today - and I surely wasn't going to..... so I had to come back before we did all of what we were out there to do. I was SO mad! :X They didn't call me until 2:15 and they closed at 5:30.

Insurance companies stink! I had the same exact thing happen to me. I ended up paying for a days rental.
