So, on the rabbitry board I've made a couple posts about my new fosters.

I promise I'll get better photos later!

In any case, I've had them for two days now. I've been doing my best to keep them alive, and start getting some nutrition in them after they've starved for 4 days (for the rew), and 2 days (for the chestnut/castor).

The back story:
So, this teacher is babysitting a farm. This farm raises livestock, and mutt rabbits for their own personal use. The people leave with two litters born. One's 1 week, and this litter was 2 weeks. While this person is babysitting, these bunnies start jumping out of the box. Well, to anyone who's raised rabbits would know that it's completely normal at this age... However she only sees a little baby who got stuck out of the box all night, cold and lonely. So she pulls it. For two days she tried to syringe it goats milk. Two days later, a chestnut baby (did the same thing? or she thought the rew was cold. not sure which.) was taken out, too. So. Here we are. The rews been out for 4 days, the chestnut for 2. She contacts me. I offer to foster it, and see if I can get them to live.

And that's where we are now.

This will be my update thread, possibly a place to ask questions, and a final sayōnara to them once they leave!

will be watching this thread. good luck to the two babys.

The REW girl ate 4 ml of formula tonight, plus some nursing from my doe. The chestnut ate about 7~8 ml, plus a little nursing. Next feeding is in 10 hours or so.

I have little doubt that the chestnut will pull out of this. The rew is still borderline. She can't eat very well, and most of her milk ends up on her chest and head. =/ We'll keep trying to get the formula in her. Hopefully she'll smarten up and start eating.

Both had pretty full tummies. Definitely an improvement from yesterday!
