I am keeping Ginger. A 4 year old red with black overlay wirehair dachshund.

And my sister is keeping Penny. A 4 year old red brindle longhair dachshund.

they are so cute!

i want a dachshund. . .but a) i don't need another pet and b) i have heard they have LOTS of hip/spine issues. . .

but they are none the less totally adorable! i love the name ginger, it looks like it fits her perfectly!
 
Yes, they can go "down" and not be able to walk.By jumping is the most normal cause for it. Stairs is the second mostcommon reason.
 
So Penny is now at my sister's house. She issooo sweet. Ginger is very calm at the moment. Not bothering much ofanything. She did go in the rabbit cage and drink every last drop ofwater! Not like Ivory doesn't do that enough. She has made a good buddywith my Pomeranian. But she is going to have to sleep by herselftonight. Just to make sure she doesnt potty everywhere.

She may have a home. The lady, her husband, and current dog are goingto have a talk. To see if they are all in agreement on a new dog. Keepyour fingers crossed. This is a WONDERFUL home. I have seen how theytreat the current dog.
