Meet Della

Hello everyone (anyone).

I'm a new rabbit dad. My rabbit, Della, came home with me a little over a month ago. They told me at the pet shop that she was a boy but the vet showed me how they weren't quite right.

She is very sweet and likes being petted and held. I think she tolerates getting picked up because she seems to know she's going to get some good petting.

I think she's a lionhead. She looks like the pictures I've seen on-line of other lionheads. If you know better from the picture, please let me know. One picture is her a few days after she came home to live with us and the other is a month later.

She has wonderfully soft fur, much softer and finer than other rabbits at the store. If she really is a lionhead, will she keep this soft fur?

What a gorgeous girl! It sounds like she's coming around on you, too. It's so great to earn a bunny's trust.

Cute bun! Her fur may change a little as she grows - bunnies have a baby coat until around 4 months old, which is when they get their first major shed and then their adult coat grows it. It will likely always be fuzzy and soft, just shorter and less poofy.
