Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been around lately. Been busy!

EVERY single time I let Marley out of her cage, she poops. It's almost instantly. She's out not 30 seconds and she's pooed 5-6 poos in a little pile. It's annoying and they stink!

Marley is not spayed, and that's probably the reason why she does it (she smells the other bunnies). The chances she's getting spayed though are very low. My parents can't see me spending so much money on a rabbit just to spay her.

Anyone have any ideas? I know people will let their bunnies out and when they poo they go back in, but how can I do that when as soon as she gets out the door she poos?

nothing to worry about here... pooing everywhere is quite natural as they can't seem to control their bowels...

however spayed/neutered rabbits don't feel the need to mark their territories so that is why they only pee in their cage... occasionally they might get a little excited while they are playing in their pipes or boxes and accidentally pee somewhere else... but i find with my two rabbits (who are both spayed) they just poo whenever they want... especially dumbo.. latte generally poos in the cage.. sometimes she's too lazy to go to the cage and poos in the middle of the room...

thankfully rabbit poo are hard little pellets that don't smell at all.. so cleaning it isn't too much of a hassle.. since both my rabbits are free to roam the house 24/7 i just vacuum their poo every night... i at least get 20-30 around their cage eveeryday...

Have you cleaned Marley's scent glands recently? Our rabbits' poo smelled terrible, so I cleaned their scent glands and it made them less stinky. I'm referring to the litter box stink, though. I'm not sure how stinky the individual poos are. Anyway, that made the stinkiness go away a bit. I just deal with the territorial poos (Toby) and vacuum after he's back in his cage. Sammi, on the other hand, is immaculate. She will run back into her cage (on the opposite side of the apartment, down the hall, and in a different room) to use her box. She's been that way since we got her and I have no idea why).

The second I let Muffin out of their cage in the morning, she runs to the baby gate that divides my bunnies' half of the apt from my bf's bunnies' half of the apt, and she poos up a storm, the stinky kind too. She's spayed, everybody in the house is fixed, they all get scent glands cleaned monthly. She and Tony also leave marking poos by the front door and the back door to mark their territory as well. Some bunnies just want to make it clear that this is their area! Granted, these marking poos only smell if you get up close to them, so it may not be as bad as Marley. I have put up litterboxes at the contentious boundary in our apt, on both sides, and I pick up poos everywhere else regularly. I guess it's just a rabbit thing--good thing they don't have poops like dogs!
