I'm about to adopt a 4 year old female rabbit. How should I introduce her to my two other 4 year old rabbits, one male, one female. I was gonna put new bunny in hutch for a few days and my other two in the run which is attached to the hutch, but keep the door shut so that can look at each other but not get to each other.

Trios are difficult and don't always work. Me personally, I would never attempt a trio. But that's just me. They aren't impossible but the risk for spontaneous fighting and for the bond between the other two to break is very likely. Getting a trio to work and then remain working is challenging to say the least.

I would be prepared to house them separately of course. When you introduce them, it needs to happen on non neutral territory where none of the rabbits have been.

Do not break up the other bond by introducing them at different times. You need to introduce all 3 at the same time.

Be prepared with gloves and spray bottle should a fight break out.

Go slow, end each date on a positive note, continue to do this daily increasing time spent together.

Lastly, if you do get to a point where they seem to be getting along, I would encourage lots of supervision for a good amount of time. Fights can break out unexpectedly and most common times are dawn and dusk when human slaves are sleeping.

Best of luck!

Thank you all for your replys. I have now cancelled the adoption as I don't want to upset the ralationship between my two bunnies. When the time comes that I am left with one rabbit I will consider adoption again.
Thanks again
Helen
