We are in the process of making bunny babies! I'm so excited. I bred two REW angoras with nice fiber. I'm breeding for amount of fiber, not for color - but I'm wondering how the genetics work. Is REW recessive? Are the red eyes and white fur linked? Will I get all REWs?

For the first few days after I got the bunnies I was having second thoughts about the plans to breed, but we're getting our routines down and the bunnies seem happier, and I'm looking forward to having more now.

My first instinct says, yes, you should get all REW because it is generally recessive but I must say I have NO clue when it comes to angoras- I'm allergic and tend to stay as far away as I can.

All, but it's worse when the angoras- especially at shows when breeders don't groom until they get there. Even when my own are shedding my face gets puffy and I have a hard time breathing.

Yes - their coats are so much denser than my sooty fawns'! So I'm going to get all REWs - I thought so. I would have been happy to have had half REWs and half colored, but the amount of wool is more important to me than the color at this point.

DyemondRabbitry - have you discussed this allergy with your doctor? I'm an ER nurse and I find it very concerning that you actually reach the point where your face is swelling and you feel it in your throat. Do you have an epipen?

Yeah I carry one with me along with an inhaler to most shows. It's kind of funny when I go armed- allergy pills, eye drops, inhaler and epi! Lol... but it's that way with alot of animals and definately with certain seasons so I just deal with it- have to when we live out here!

Ok, I know this has nothing to do with the topic lol, but when I'm around cats and horses, my eyes nearly swell shut, my throat gets alot tighter feeling and my voice comes out all high pitched as there isn't enough room. Should I have a epipen? Or see a Dr?

Lol, to get back on topic LOL, I look foward to pictures!
