I've been curious as to what colour my buck, Magic is. I remember during one of those "Rate my Mix-bred" topics, that Pam said Magic looked to be a Vienna Marked something...like another color was added on, but I forget which.

Also, while you're at it, could you maybe give me some insight on what breed he may be? I always thought Dutch and American Sable....but I'm not sure. What's he look like to you breeders/showers?

Here are some pictures of him, and I'll get some new body shots later, too. Including belly pictures.

I'll more later. Photobucket is being a pain!

Thanks,

Emily

Vienna marked black. How much does Magic weigh? That first pose looks classic Holland Lop (with major ear control).

Pam

I was thinking Magic had some lop in him too, the way his ears are shaped and how they make a lazy V shape from the front, he looks like he has some lop in him.

Magic weighs 5 lbs. and usually around 2 oz. I agree with you guys. He does look like he has some lop in him. And Pam, he always sits like that! :nodMaybe he's part Holland Lop. His face is rounder too, like lops' faces are.

ETA: here's two pictures from yesterday. Both show his body. Please excuse the red eye. I tried fixing it, but it wouldn't work!

Question; does his eyes have a slight red tint in real life? He may be a seal? In some pictures he looks like he maybe seal and if he had a slight red look to his eyes that would prove it.

Bunny, I'm not sure. I will have to look tomorrow. He always gets red eyes whenI take pictures of him - is that what you're seeing, or is it just his colour? Now that you mention it, he does look seal, but what would his colour be if he is seal, because he has the white markings?

I'll get some more photos of him tomorrow in the natural light, where it shows his colour better.

I honestly say he is a dutch mix. I sold my sister's dad a Dutch doe with poor markings some years ago. He had wanted rabbits for my neice and nephew and loved the Holland Lops but they really liked this doe. Soon after he had me get a pair of Holland Lops from a breeder I knew. two months after that the buck was ready to breed and he bred him to the dutch, they produced the cutest little missmarked dutch lookers! Magic actually looks like they did with his markings and the fact he has a chubbier features which many Holland mixes have.

My own bunny, Magic's, dad is a lop and the lazy v-shaped ear position in your picture reminds me of him. I didn't realize that that was the give away sign for being a half lop. Good to know

Very good to know, Sabine! Lol. I actually knew that a lazy-V kind of meant it, but I never noticed it in Magic before. And he always sits like a Holland, so I'm guessing he has some of that in him.

I am not actually sure what kind of lop Magic's dad is. They have very similar markings and colour. I must ask my neighbour if she knows

I asked my neighbour and she reckons Magic's dad (who is called Nightshade) is a German Lop. I am hoping to take a picture of him soon. My Magic's ears seem to be drooping more and more these days I'm beginning to wonder if she'll end up being a Lop after all. She is about twelve weeks now. Do you reckon that's possible? How old is your Magic?

It is possible, but I think they would start drooping a little now. My Magic is around 3 years old. I got him when he was 10 months old, and I just made his birthday be June 6th.

I guess I just have to wait and see. Ears up or down I love her anyhow
Your Magic is really handsome. I saw a cross bred black dwarf lop in a shop the other day. One ear up and one ear down. I was badly tempted....
