hi all

im finding that when i clean out lucy's water bowl as she has a ceramic one

that there tends to be alot of a slime buildup

she has her water bowl changed morning and night and i just qwondered would it be provented by using bottled water

Hi Varna,

When you say bottled water, do you mean buying bottled water to put in her dish or using a water bottle instead of the dish?

If Lucy will drink from a bottle, it would be better. Aircan't get to the water, so there's less chance of anything growing init.

2 out of my 5 bunnies drink from abottle. I have one of those brita filters which seem to workpretty well. I give them fresh water 2- 4 times a day andthoroughly clean their dishes every other day.

Varna, Hi Sweetie. You can use vinegaror bleach to wash Lucy's bowl. It will get rid of whatever there is init making it get gross. Just make sure and rinse it really well.

Will Lucy drink from a water bottle? Do you have somewhere tohang one outside of her cage? Are you adding anything to herwater?

hi tina

i havnt anywhere to hang a botttle and she just has plain water

its like a slime formin on the bowl could i use her cage cleaner asoften some of them say you can use it on pet bowls but i think i'd haveto rinse it before she had it

I would be worried about the chemicalsnot rinsing all the way off. I would try the vinegar first. That stuffcleans everything, just rinse it real good.

Hi Varna,

I agree with Tina, vinegar water can work wonders and you don't have toworry about Lucy injesting chemicals. However, the best solution wouldbe to find a place to put a bottle, as it keeps everything muchcleaner. Although, that may not be possible because some bunnies won'tuse bottles.

I also agree with Tina as well. Make sure, really sure, that you wash the bwol thorughly.

If you get a cage bottle like I have for Emmy at the present moment, some bottles have a little hanger inside the bottle that can be easilytaken out. These bottles are really affordable at Petsmart or Petco.
