Okay i honestly don't know how to say this but, Oscar doesn't live with me anymore. I haven't had the guts to post this because I'm scared people on RO would judge me (What happened to Toula and Lou) and i'm not ready to let go yet. Why you ask? I had to rehome oscar because my family and i believed that it wasnt fair to keep him at home during the day by himself 3days a week (even though dad comes home during his break times when oscar is at home by himself, he gets really upset and starts barking and howling, he's so loud the nieghbours filled a complaint on us. Now he lives on a 14acre farm land with day time company and another jack russell. I hope the forum isnt angry at me for keeping this hidden to my self. Its just i've been so upset about it, even writting this right now i'm in tears. I cried day in day out. I miss you baby.

But on the bright side... My family and i misses having a dog and we've been looking for a older dog that can stay inside during the day if we're not home. Well we've found him. Tbh, i don't think he's real

-Toilet trained
-Doesn't go on furniture.
-Doesn't bark
-Is used to being left at home by himself (his old owner works full time he stays at home for like 10hrs, but here he'll only be at home alone for 3 days of the week around 7-8 hrs.)
-He walks well on lead
-You can leave a plate of food on teh ground and he won't touch it, because he knows its not his.
-Very well mannered.

My dad and i have gone to see him before my trip to wellington and oh boy he is perfect. He's very calm.

Well today is the day i pick him up. ;)
I'll post pictures as soon as possible.

I miss you Oscar Hamish Carlisle

Awh sorry you had to give up Oscar but I'm sure he'll have great fun on a huge farm and Luca is absolutely beautiful!

Sounds like things turned out great all round! :)

Aww, it's ok Prisca. Sometimes certain pets just don't fit an individuals life, and although it's hard, sometimes you have to look at what's best for the pet and your family. Life isn't perfect, so sometimes you have to go through these learning steps, and we all make misjudgements.. nothing someone has the right to pass judgement on. Now if we only had clairvoyant abilities.. we would be good to go!

Congrats on the new dog, and I really hope he fits into your family well. He looks gorgeous!

Aww Luca is gorgeous, he looks so sweet. I hope he works out better for your family! No one can blame you for your parents' decisions. I'm not trying to rag on your parents, but it sounds like they need to research animals better before they decide to get them. Any rabbit owner could have told them that bunnies can be destructive if the home isn't properly bunny proofed, and DEFINITELY that Jack Russell Terriers are just bursting with energy and difficult to train, particularly puppies. Hopefully Luca will fair better since he's an adult and sounds like a wonderful boy.

I told you that you didn't have to worry about the forums. We all understand perfectly that sometimes things just don't work out. I hope everything goes fine with Luca!

And don't forget that you can tell us anything. None of us will ever judge you harshly for anything that happens.

Awwww!
Luca is so cute!
You did the best for Oscar so don't worry! We won't judge you at all!!!

:D
And...we need more pics of Luca because he is just gorgeous!

Oh, I love Luca!

Hope she works out for you - sorry to hear about Oscar but I am sure he will like his 14 acre farm... Jack Russells are high energy dogs times 10.

Oh, a golden! I had 2 golden retrievers until Friday when we had to put our Shadow down (I wrote about it in my blog.) We still have her 13 year old sister, Missy.
They're such great dogs. Enjoy him.

Thank you for the people who are giving me support.
Luca is settling in well, he's such such such such a good dog. Great dog. Actually fantastical dog. He's one of the most well behaved dog i have ever met, i'm so lucky to have him. For his size.. he eats .. not that much. He hates his biscuits though, time for a flavour change! I am absolutely amazed by his manners.

Well here as i promised pictures ;)

Paul LOL. Yeah that's his drinking bowl lol. We fill it up fully and most of the time he finishes it, depends.

I defo need better pictures!

I'll take pics tomorrow when i get home, when the sun still shinning :D He's actually as big as a young lion, or an older lion cub :O

Yeah yeah i know i SOUND like I'm exaggerating thats what my friends aid then they came to see him and was like "gasp" :p

He's an awesome dog.

Luca is gorgeous!
Golden Retrievers are one of my favourite breeds of dogs. I'll either have a Golden, Border Collie, Australian Shepherd or Aussie Cattle Dog as my next dog.

My older sister's ex husband has a Golden, but he isn't very "gold" hehe. He's like a light yellow, like a lab. But he does of course have the longer hair of a Golden. He's purebred, and his name is Cowboy. He's probably 3 or 4 years old, and still such a rambuctious dog. :pIf I ever got a Golden, I would want it to be as dark as Luca :D
