We have a bunny that we adopted a few months back. He seems older. The shelter didn't know much about him. He is very affectionate with my husband and I but unsure of my 2 toddlers. He does not bite or anything like that and he's good with the kids. Hes not big into staying in his cage. He poops and hides toys in there but likes to be out. He's not a big explorer loves to cuddle up on blankets and our bed.

I'm just not sure where to put his cage or of moving it like we have been doing is OK for him. We have put him in our room with his cage during some days that the kids are not being nice to him in the living room. Once they are in bed he's out hopping around but goes to the place where the cage used to be and thumps his feet. When we move it back for him he goes to the other place and thumps there! So we need another cage?!

He is happy. he does binkys (when the little ones are in bed). He eats, drinks and poops well.

Any suggestions to keep him less stressed. Its either he stays in our room alone all day or stays in the living room with the toddlers. I don't want him depressed for being alone but also not stressed from the kids.

Congratulations on the new addition!

Giving him two cages might be a good idea if you have the space for it. It's essential, especially when living with small children that aren't always good at knowing the boundaries, that your rabbit have a safe space where kids aren't allowed. Ideally even you won't grab him out of his cage unless absolutely necessary. Then he knows that if he's feeling stressed he can go in his cage and no one will bother him, but if he wants to come out and explore, that's alright too.

Thank you for the reply. I think I may just get the second cage. We have even tie wrapped the top part of the cage so they cannot open it but we are able to. Just in case...
You know I have always heard that rabbits are a gross pet. That they smell and poop everywhere etc but honestly. They are wonderful! He is litter trained and are super clean! Also the binkys... so adorable! I love my big fluffy Gandalf!
