Relationships are very difficult for me.

I really want to date someone but it isn't easy. My animals and I come as a package deal and I won't date anyone who wouldn't treat and care for my animals like I do. I know that isn't impossible to find as my ex was amazing with them. He would do everything I did and would help me give a poopy bunny butt bath. I won't settle for less then what I want. I know or atleast hope one day I will find someone who loves animals as much as I do. I have dated a few people and when I bring them home I always get the "Oh Wow" when they see the bunny's cages. It really stinks and gets very discouraging but I keep trying. I went on a first date last night and showed the guy pictures and he talked about how cute they are so I am keeping my fingers crossed. That is more then I have gotten from a lot of other guys.

For me I'm caught in an awkward position that I don't know which way to go. I have one girl who I loved, who it felt completely right with, but her parents came between us, they cut us off completely and now any contact has to be secret.
Lucy and I are a package deal that's for sure, MUST LOVE BUNS! Any girl who tried to get between me and my baby girl would have to go.

I agree with your comment "the more people I meet, the more I love my bunnies" bunnies don't answer back or say something nasty lol they just look up at you with their cute bunny faces and just give you love.
However I do have a human partner that loved my 2 buns as much as me and ended up wanting and having one of his own, we now own 5 lol! Though I prob spend more on the buns then him lol!

LOL, I was then, and continue to be, amazed at the real relationships that unfolded through the Simple Minds forum.
That forum actually no longer exists, but it was a great place. It definitely was about the band, Simple Minds, but the topics discussed, spanned all sorts of things, just like here.

I guess I'm really really fortunate.
Art is the first guy I dated...we met a week before my 18th birthday (at college) and got married a few weeks before my 19th birthday.
He wasn't (and isn't) "into" animals like I am....but he's into me...so the animals are a part of our life. I joke that he should just call me "Ellie Mae" from The Beverly Hillbillies...I used to feed the skunks outside at our old place (I was feeding neighborhood cats but the skunks found out...). I often tell him I'm going to have a REAL pet skunk again (I had one as a teen)...that is sorta where he's putting his foot down...but someday...I hope to have another one.
I guess I'm very fortunate...for not being into animals the way I am....he waters all our buns (quite a deal with our herd)...he helps clean cages...he carries in the food (I go through about 150-170 pounds of food per week).
We celebrate our 30th anniversary on August 9th....and if anything ever happens to him - I don't think I'll try to look for someone else.
Don't get me wrong...Art isn't perfect and many times we've considered separating - but we just can't seem to live without each other. Its gotten to the point we can't even stay mad at each other without us feeling like it hurts us more than getting our own way.
I'm so glad I don't have to be out there trying to find someone else...I think I'd rather just curl up in a fetal position and cry for days on end....it would be just too hard.
I don't envy anyone looking for the right person....all I can say is...when it happens...don't let go!
